Service: Vote For Me
1. Who processes your data?
The Vote For Me platform is operated by:
DOGOOLLE LTD
Carlyle House, Lower Ground Floor
235 Vauxhall Bridge Road
London SW1V 1EJ
United Kingdom
Company Number: 16357520
Vote For Me provides competition organisers with an online platform enabling them, among other things, to organise public online voting.
Depending on the nature of the processing concerned, the competition organiser may also act as a data controller for data relating to their competition.
2. Data collected
When you participate in a vote organised using Vote For Me, the following data may be processed:
- your email address;
- the vote or votes cast;
- the contestant to whom the points are awarded;
- the date and time of the vote;
- your IP address;
- certain technical information necessary for the security and operation of the service, including browser information and technical logs.
When voting requires payment, certain transaction-related information may also be associated with the vote in order to confirm payment and correctly allocate the corresponding points.
Payment card data
Vote For Me does not collect or store your payment card numbers on its servers.
Card payments are processed by Stripe, which processes the payment information required for the transaction in accordance with its own legal obligations and privacy policy.
3. Why do we use this data?
The data is used to:
- enable participation in the vote;
- correctly record and count votes;
- allocate points to the selected contestant;
- verify, where voting requires payment, that the corresponding payment has been completed;
- prevent multiple, abusive or fraudulent votes;
- ensure the security of the platform;
- ensure the integrity and reliability of the results;
- ensure the technical operation of the service.
Data collected in connection with voting is not used by Vote For Me for advertising or direct marketing purposes.
4. Legal bases for processing
Processing that is strictly necessary to record and carry out a vote is performed in order to provide the service requested by the user.
Processing intended to ensure system security, prevent fraud and protect the integrity of the competition is also based on the legitimate interests of Vote For Me and the competition organiser.
These interests include preventing manipulation of results, multiple voting and fraudulent use of the service.
5. Data retention
Personal data relating to voting and stored by Vote For Me is deleted no later than 5 days after the end of the relevant competition.
This short period following the end of the competition allows us, in particular, to:
- finalise and verify the results;
- identify any anomalies or fraudulent activity;
- deal with any technical disputes arising immediately after the vote.
After this period, personal data associated with votes is deleted from Vote For Me's active systems.
Competition results and certain statistical data may be retained where they no longer allow individual voters to be personally identified.
Any data that Stripe may be required to retain in order to comply with its own legal, regulatory, accounting or fraud-prevention obligations is subject to Stripe's own retention policies and is not controlled by Vote For Me.
6. Who can access the data?
To the extent necessary for the operation of the service, data may be accessible to:
- authorised Vote For Me personnel;
- the competition organiser, where necessary for the organisation or monitoring of their competition;
- technical service providers necessary for the operation of the service;
- Stripe when a payment is made.
Vote For Me does not sell or rent voters' personal data.
7. Security
Vote For Me implements technical and organisational measures designed to protect data against:
- unauthorised access;
- unauthorised modification or destruction;
- loss of data;
- fraudulent use.
Access to data is restricted to the people and systems that require it for the operation of the service.
Payment card data is processed directly by Stripe and is not stored on Vote For Me's servers.
8. Your rights
Depending on the applicable legislation and the nature of the processing concerned, you may have:
- the right to access your data;
- the right to rectification;
- the right to erasure;
- the right to restriction of processing;
- the right to object;
- where the applicable legal requirements are met, the right to data portability.
These rights are not absolute, and certain exceptions provided for by applicable law may apply.
Consequences of deleting a vote
Where a request for erasure is legally applicable and results in the deletion of the data required to identify and validate a vote before the competition has ended, the corresponding vote and the points associated with it may also have to be deleted.
This consequence results from the fact that it may not be possible to retain a valid individual vote while deleting the data necessary to verify its validity and integrity.
To exercise your rights:
9. Cookies and technical storage
Vote For Me may use cookies or similar technologies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the voting system, in particular to:
- maintain a user session;
- ensure the security of the service;
- limit multiple voting;
- store certain technical information essential to the operation of the platform.
These technologies are not used by Vote For Me for behavioural advertising purposes.
10. Payments and Stripe
When a competition uses paid voting, payments are processed by Stripe.
Stripe may process information relating to:
- the payment method;
- the transaction;
- the amount and date of the payment;
- the payment status;
- fraud prevention.
Vote For Me only receives the information necessary to determine whether the transaction has been completed and to allocate the corresponding votes or points.
Stripe also processes data in accordance with its own legal and regulatory obligations.
11. International transfers
Vote For Me and some of its service providers may process data from different countries.
Where applicable law requires specific safeguards for an international transfer of personal data, appropriate legal mechanisms are used.
Depending on the countries and circumstances involved, Stripe uses recognised mechanisms for international data transfers.
